Mission Statement |
Many years ago, our parents moved from a very small town in the Northeast in search of sun for their retirement. First they moved to North Carolina, and then to Florida. For many years they subscribed to their small town newspaper in the Northeast as a way to keep in touch, but mainly to follow the obituaries. They worried that should one of their longtime friends pass, they would not be notified. As the years passed and as they got older, their subscription lapsed. On many occasions they expressed great frustration at not finding out about a loss for many weeks afterwards because they had no easy way to access the obituary listings. They had also acquired many friends in North Carolina, and keeping informed from both locations became very difficult.
With them in mind, we set out to design a tasteful, serene site that would allow for direct obituary listing, and easy to search parameters at just the click of the mouse.
In creating our site, we considered our parents, and the dilemma of our modern times, when children are living away from parents and relatives, and final arrangements often have to be made from a distance. We wanted to provide an easy way to list obituaries on-line, and an easy way to search for these listings so that distant family and friends who would probably not be notified right away can now access the information.
In addition we strived to create a site that would facilitate the making of these arrangements by listing many of the pertinent services needed at time of passing.
As the memorial service ends, and as time goes by, the obituary records become permanent. Our web site will then serve as a genealogy record where we can save the facts and achievements of our loved ones for future generations. The listing of specific information on the place of birth and place of death will facilitate obtaining birth certificates and death certificates.
In reviewing our site, we believe that we have accomplished our goals and exceeded them. Our site is beautiful, tasteful, easy to use, and very economical.
